A wonderful start to the Advent season
During the Christmas Event, the town hall square is transformed into an atmospheric stage for the festive start to the Advent season. Visitors can look forward to a varied programme: music, culinary delights, encounters with donkeys and llamas, and a very special appearance by Andres Gerber and some players from FC Thun, who will surprise the children with Chlousesäckli (St. Nicholas bags). The highlight of the evening: at 7 p.m., the lights on the festively decorated Christmas tree will be officially switched on – a magical moment with a communal countdown.

Highlight of the evening:
This year's fir tree is a gift from the civic community of Thun and comes from a civic forest in Steffisburg.
The tree was decorated over several days with great love and dedication by Margrit Bieri, owner of Schlossgarten kreative Floristik GmbH, with the support of Franziska Stähli. In keeping with this year's theme of “Santa Claus,” the tree is decorated in festive shades of red and green with decorative elements such as Santa Claus, a reindeer, and mistletoe.
The event is free and open to everyone.
The Christmas tree will be on display in all its glory on the town hall square until January 6, spreading festive cheer throughout the picturesque town center of Thun.
